Celebrating International Women's Day, SCF Showcased Dozens of Women's Inmates Crafts at DoubleTree Hotel Jakarta

JAKARTA, SCF - In commemoration of World Women's Day 2021 on March 8, the Second Chance Foundation (SCF) collaborated with DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Jakarta. SCF opened a booth to showcase dozens of creations by female inmates at the Class IIA Women's Prison in Tangerang and the Class IIA Women's Prison in Jakarta.
Dozens of handicrafts on display include woven wallets, embroidered wallets, batik shopping bags, painted hijabs, mask straps, 3-layer masks, brooches, knitted dolls with various colors in the shape of a rabbit; owl; chicken; monkeys, hats and knitting bags, to mukena. SCF is present at the lobby of DoubleTree Hotel by Hilton Jakarta from 12 to 14 March 2021 from 10.00 WIB to 16.00 WIB.
The variety of handicrafts is the result of strong motivation and enthusiasm to prove that limited space does not necessarily stop the productivity and creativity of these tough women in prison.
In addition to displaying the creations of female assisted residents, the SCF team also interacted with hotel guests who came to the booth to introduce SCF and various existing and future programs.
This is one of SCF's steps in forging strategic partnerships with the community. At the same time supporting and promoting the development of the creative economy in prisons, and changing the paradigm of society to remove the negative stigma against women assisted by women. This is so that these women inmates can be accepted back by the community after completing their sentence in prison.
